This week launched the 2017 AVS Math Club hosted by our 3rd and 4th grade math teachers, Claire Graves and Lauren Gaudie. The goal of the math club is to explore math concepts and raise students' appreciation of the diversity of mathematics and its applications. Together the members will complete problem solving challenges and develop techniques for critical thinking. Most importantly, we will just have fun with MATH!
In the first math club, students were challenged to create a multiplication and division board. They worked in the Tinkering Studio and measured for accuracy, sanded their wooden square, and drilled holes into their board.
