First Grade Blue Marble Project
First graders demonstrated their AVS pride on Friday and invited our community to join them in the Blue Marble Project to take care of our Earth. First graders connected their learning in science to help the Earth be a cleaner and safer place. Check out the slide show presentation here.
They worked diligently to produce this initiative for our community and wrote a list of Earth Guardian actions we can all take:
Using a reusable lunch (zero waste)
Being mindful when recycling
Helping others when throwing things away
Biking to school
Walking to school
Picking up trash in and around our school
Using scrap paper
Composting/worm bin
Finishing food or saving it for later
Bottle bricking
Saving energy by turning off the lights
Using public transportation
Using an electric car
Helping in the garden
Drying hands on clothes to save paper towels
