Tuition & Tuition Assistance
Each January, our Board of Trustees sets the tuition schedule for the coming school year. For the 2019-2020 school year, tuition is $31,000 for all grade levels. A one-time enrollment deposit of $1,000 is due for each student upon enrollment.
Tuition covers all educational costs, including:
School day instruction
After-school care and enrichment programming as well as AVS Adventure camps, which cover many school closure days, are available at additional cost. Zum carpooling service is also available at an additional cost.
Need-Blind Admissions Process
Alta Vista School is committed to building a community of families who share common values, irrespective of financial means. We offer tuition assistance and encourage families who may need assistance to apply. Our admissions process is need-blind, meaning that tuition assistance does not play a role in the admission decision. Tuition assistance is provided confidentially to families after an admission decision has been made.
Alta Vista works with TADS, an independent and established tuition assistance service, to process tuition support applications. TADS does not determine whether tuition assistance will be given or in what amount. Rather, TADS is a need-based tuition assistance analysis service that provides the school with a report, including a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition based on their means. Alta Vista then makes the specific determination. All information from TADS is kept confidential. Applications are reviewed by our administrative team to determine whether and in what amount a tuition assistance offer is made to a family. The deadline for our tuition assistance application is February 15, 2020.
